SUMMIT LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON RE-CAP
Thank you to all who were able to join me this past Sunday as we looked at “The Art of Welcoming.”
1. If you were unable to attend and have not yet picked up your free copy of Josh & Sean McDowell’s More Than a Carpenter, please holler at me and get your copy. It’s a powerful recourse for both, sharing your faith, as well as growing stronger in it.
2. With fear & trepidation, I handed out “comment cards” containing two simple questions: (1) What are we doing well?, and (2) What can we do better? The responses have been very helpful. If you’d like to contribute, just email me your answers to those two questions.
NOTICE: All boxes are due no later than this coming Sunday, 11/18.
FOR ALL RED RAIDER FANS
FYI – This is a wonderfully written article from ESPN about our former Red Raider, Patrick Mahomes. Guns Up! Read the article here.
MISSION “REVELATION STUDY”: ACCOMPLISHED
So, after 22 Wed nights, 22 chapters, verse by verse, we finished our adventure through the biblical book of Revelation. It was awesome (not the teaching necessarily – but the experience )
Waylon Jennings has always been one of my favorites. And I’ll never forget the first time I listened to his song, Revelation, when I was a kid (song linked below.)
The song captures the imagination when trying to picture that moment when Christ returns to planet earth.
Having “the hell scared out of you” (the last line of the song) isn’t what the Bible says saves our souls – (faith in Christ does that). But it’s a darn good place to start. Waylon gets his point across. There’s a reason the Bible repeatedly says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
QUOTE of the WEEK
One of my favorites from Lewis that I’ll be using this Saturday during our [Un]Apologetics Conference…
LAUGHTER IS GOOD MEDICINE
And a bonus…
GRACE NOTES: Where are the other Nine?
I post this blog every Thanksgiving season. My heart is pierced each time I read this passage of scripture. May we remember to stop and say “thank you” not just one day of the year, but every day. I am thankful for each of you. Read the blog here.
Soli Deo Gloria, Nick
