BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Here’s the headline:

China on course to become ‘world’s most Christian nation’ within 15 years

Two weeks ago, I included an article with the headline: “Iran has world’s fastest growing church…”  If you missed it, read the article here.

God is mightily at work, moving the “chess pieces into place”, preparing for his glorious return.  Read the article on the Chinese church here.

THE INTOLERANCE OF THE “TOLERANT” (an editorial by Nick)

This past week,  KCBD posted a story on their web site that typifies those preaching tolerance and acceptance.  See headline below.

I rarely – if ever – post political commentary on social media.  But, frankly, I don’t consider this topic political.  It’s about an American’s freedom to hold to whatever faith worldview they choose without the fear of being castigated or vilified.  Below is what I posted on social media.  By the way, every single comment I received was in favor of my conviction.

There’s so much bigotry, hypocrisy and intolerance in this mess/article for the following reasons:

First, unlike a privately owned business, this is a public school, paid for by the tax dollars of people representing all worldviews.

Second, the intolerant principal is forcing his worldview on the freedom of every student to choose what they believe.

Third, his speech continues to perpetuate the juvenile, myopic lie that disagreeing with someone means you hate them. He says “be kind” while simultaneously being hateful to Chick-fil-a.

Rather than teach students to think for themselves, he is saying, “you should think like me.” This is not education.  It’s indoctrination. Once again, those preaching tolerance and “kindness” are saying, “I want to hear your opinion, as long as it’s my opinion coming out of your mouth.”

I hold to a biblical worldview.  But, if the LBGTQ wanted to serve me lunch I would humbly thank them for their kindness and compassion and then, not only eat the lunch, but invite them to join me.

I have many gay friends.  I’ve had them in my home.  I’ve taken them to dinner.  I even told one young gay man I wish he were my son.  Do I believe the Bible calls homosexuality sin?  Yes.  Does this affect my love and compassion for homosexuals?  Not one bit.

To those who are preaching “tolerance” – start practicing what you preach.

The principal should be fired. (You can read the brief KCBD article here.)

QUOTE of the WEEK

“Jesus asks nothing of us without giving us the strength to perform it.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship

LAUGHTER IS GOOD MEDICINE

Why don’t they give us things we can actually use? I don’t need a thinner phone. You know what I need? A tortilla chip that can support the weight of guacamole.

And a bonus…

At a marriage conference, a man, who was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, was asked to share some insights into the secrets behind such a long and healthy marriage. He shared, “Well, I’ve tried to treat her nicely and spend money on her. But, best of all, on our 10th wedding anniversary I took her to Italy.” The host said, “You are an inspiration to all the husbands here. Please tell us what you are planning for your 50th wedding anniversary.” The man replied, “I’m going to go to Italy and get her.”
